Success Stories

Barbara and Cheryl and their son Tyler were in the program for 69 days. They began the program on April 4th, 2010 and were able to almost immediately find daycare for thier son at Cuidando Los Ninos (CLN). While Tyler attended  CLN he made huge improvements and the family was able to recieve services which included parenting skills and nutrition classes. Barbara wanted to go back to school, and did so by attending CNM for her Pharmacy Technicican degree. Cheryl has experience in Security work and began looking for employment with several agencies that had work in that field. Cheryl also continued to work on  getting her GED.

Before exiting the program Cheryl was working part-time and mainly on weekends with a security company, Barbara is still attending CNM for classes and Tyler still attends Cuidando los Ninos. The family was able to obtain an apartment with the money that Cheryl is making and with the assistance the family receives from social services and from student aide. The family checks in regularly and continues to work on the goals that they set while in IHN. Thank you to all who asssited the family with the needs and supplies that helped make this a success story.

All of the congregations and volunteers assisted with household items for the family to settle into their home. IHN will provide case management and resource linking for the next 6 months for the family to ensure their success.
